instagram moments

ooow... how I love Instagram!!!
I have said it before but in a short time I really have become an true addict,
it has become one of my favorite places to be inspired but most of all
it has brought me a lot of new friends,  inspiration, fun and some
amazing moments that really made me proud:

So I was invited to join an amazing IG #stylingcompetition with some
of my greatest examples of the scandanavian styling world this year,
I was interviewed by the Wallstreet journal about
instagram, my blog and creating still-lifes,
I was included by @instagram in their "suggested users list",
I was a little part of the epicurean edition of Llamas Valley magazine
where you could find me in a feature about bloggers and their kitchens
and  i'm so proud...  a little while ago I was asked to join a new series
for dutch interior VT wonen magazine called "klein woongeluk"
Today I admired the beautiful collage in the January issue,
that they have made of some of my pictures... and I thought to myself...
Yes... Instagram really brought me a lot of...

Thank you all for following, your friendship and all your sweet
comments and messages... that really makes me smile!

H&M trends

clean and straight lines and graphic patterns combined with
shiny metallics and subtle soft and natural tones...
simple, timeless and so beautiful

I really like the cozy december days
but when I saw the new home interior trends of H&M
and the peaceful atmosphere created by stylist Hans Blomquist
it really made me long for Spring

# on my shelf - Margreet of OUI OUI studio

one of my favourite hashtags on
 instagram is the #onmyshelf one
Love to admire all these beautiful styled shelves
(or whatever used... tables, cabinets, cupboard)
but most of all the added personal touch
gives us the idea getting to know each other a little bit...
and that is what attracts me most

to be inspired by each others creative ideas and
getting to know each other a little bit more I have asked some friend bloggers
to share their "shelfies" accompanied by some words or a short story...

Margreet is a dutch blogger and on her blog OUI OUI studio
she shares her passion for interior, lifestyle and fashion
just love her personal taste: black & white combined with a touch of wood, concrete,
brass, copper and marble and her beautiful still-lifes on instagram are stunning!

this week she shares her daughters shelfie

it 's starting to look a lot like Christmas...

Since last year, our daughter Mirte has a small Christmas tree in her room,
which she loves to decorate. Christmas decorations do not have to be expensive;
last weekend she herself picked out these small cute Christmas decorations
at the thrift shop. She found some crazy small things that yet combine well.

We decorated her room with a few gold and silver accents.
The shelves are from IKEA and the small one from dutch warehouse Hema.
I’ve spray painted the shelf holders white.

The white paper star garland and black paper figure also are from Hema.
The MDF tree comes from discountstore Action.
The Cup 'M' is from Design letters, the magazine holders we bought at Ikea.
Pouch House Doctor, silver pouch H&M, boxes Hay Design, white basket Hema,
silver bin Kwantum. Star of wool De Agave, doll Betty Naked Lunge,
black scissors IKEA, white tiger Schleich.

The Slinky toy is from Action and I spray painted it black.
The garland of wooden beads and the Christmas card ‘Hi Santa’ are gifts.
I received them fom instagram friend and blogger @iwdseh (In wijk daar staat een huis
after taking part of the amazing #instaswapfalledition.
(the instaswap  - oganized by Lynda Hovens - is one of the biggest online feel-good events in the Netherlands
that has moved hundreds of people to invest time and consideration in a complete stranger -red- )

The green diy garland is made from our conifer plant in the garden and
the mood board photos are printed from my Pinterest account :
Thank you for inviting me on your beautiful blog Elvera.
I want to wish your readers and yourself a very merry Christmas !
I'm going to enjoy it together with my family.

# on my shelf - Wendy of Beeldsteil

as you might know one of my favourite hashtags on
 instagram is the #onmyshelf one
Love to admire all these beautiful styled shelves
(or whatever used... tables, cabinets, cupboard)
but most of all the added personal touch
gives us the idea getting to know each other a little bit...
and that is what attracts me most

because it thought it would be fun to share and to be inspired
by each other's creative ideas I have asked some of my favourite bloggers
to share their "shelfies" accompanied by some words or a short story...
don't we all love to share and to be inspired by each others
creative ideas and knowing a little bit more about it ?

this week Wendy  - very talented photographer, photo-/interior stylist and founder of
the beautiful and always inspiring lifestyle, photography and interior design blog
 "Beeldsteil" shares hers...

On my shelf – A first hint of Christmas

This year I'm late with the Christmas decorations compared to previous years.
But slowly little hints of Christmas are entering my home.
Starting on the open kitchen shelves Botkyrka by Ikea. Still favourite because of
the simple design and the material it’s made of: powder-coated steel.

Like many things in my home, it’s all in the details.
No striking and gleaming decorations for me. The X cup from Design Letters is
a good example of a minimal yet beautiful Christmas hint.
The wooden stars give a more graphic look and feel than
 the traditional festive season decoration.

My love for beautiful ceramics is still going strong.
Lately I combine it more and more with used home accessories.
Like the two glasses that I found on a vintage market in an old town
in the Netherlands. Hand-blown from the late seventies.
A nice contrast with the modern white tableware.
Now they serve as a plant holder, next week I might use it for candles or wine.
That's the beauty of open shelves and accessories,
I can change it again and again.. Love to do that,  especially at this time of year.
I could spend hours on styling and creating new combinations.

Of course a Christmas tree can’t be missed, the next few days
I’ll search for the perfect tree. Not too big or too small and beautifully shaped.

Wish you all wonderful December days and lots of fun decorating!

Love, Wendy

after a great and busy weekend,
where we celebrated  the dutch Sint Nicolaas tradition
and the 10th birthday of my son
I slowly started to decorate my home for christmas
some black, white, a touch of green and the smell of some fresh eucalyptus
is just fine to me to start the cosy atmosphere of the days before christmas
love this time of the year...

have a wonderful new week!
